Inspired by the obtuse yet tactile qualities of the objects in the exhibition, this book’s thick flexible structure reinforces the ideas inherent in the art. Florio Design employed a soft, uncoated paper and a French-fold lay-flat binding, which allows the consistent use of narrow borders and a carefully formulated grid. The resulting tension reminds the viewer this is not a dusty “lace” and “knitting” enterprise, but expression that has been taken to its radical and subversive extreme.
